Don Kuester

Don H. Kuester, 83, Hermann, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hermann Area District Hospital.

He was born Nov. 13, 1940, to the late Herman & Hilda  (Schollmeyer) Kuester in Morrison.

He was united in marriage to Ruby May Kuebler Sept. 2, 1961. Don was later united in marriage to Linda Faerber July 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nev..

Don was a former member of Hermann Eagles and Hermann Rod & Gun Club.  He was affiliated with St. James U.C.C., Morrison and was an alderman in Gasconade for many years.

Don started his career working at B-Line Systems as an accountant.  When he moved back to Missouri he bought a retail butcher shop and bar in Morrison that he owned and operated, called Don’s Place.  After closing his business he went to work for several years at Gen Corp and later went back to cutting meat at Loutre Market and Village Market in Hermann.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Ruby; parents, Herman and Hilda; daughter, Donna Sanford; son-in-law, Scott Shockley; brother, Arlen Kuester; sister, LaVerne Brinkmann; sister-in-law,  Georgia Kuester; and brother-in-law, Orville Brinkmann.

Don is survived by wife, Linda Kuester of Hermann; daughter, Sheila Karns and husband Rod of Montgomery, Texas; son, David  Kuester and wife June of Gasconade; son-in-law, Danny Sanford of Portland; step-daughters, Donna Struttman and husband Mike of McKittrick and Glenda Shockley and special friend Todd Troyer of Hermann; step-son, Chris Eikel and special friend Cassandra Struckhoff of Hermann; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren;  and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions suggested to Hermann Hospital, Hermann Ambulance or Good Hope Cemetery in Morrison.

Arrangements entrusted to Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann.
