Walter Wayne Helton, 84, Vienna, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home.
He was born March 16, 1940, to the late Vernon Albert and Dorothy Mae (Green) Helton in Vienna.
He was united in marriage to Alice Ann Schroeder Oct. 12, 1957, in Meta.
Walter worked in the heating and air conditioning and sheet metal industries.
He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Dorothy; son, Stanley Helton; daughters, Rhonda and Susan Helton; brothers, Warren and Roger Helton; half-brothers, Arlen and Arthur Helton; half-sisters, Lorene O’Haver, Louise Vemmer and Lola Mae Deleshmit.
Walter is survived by wife, Alice of Vienna; sons, Dale Helton and wife Margie of Meta, Ron Helton and wife Darlene of Westphalia and Vernon Helton and wife Amy of Vienna; daughter, Diane James and husband Jay of Vienna; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Sonny Helton of Vienna; sisters, Leona Williams of Branson and Joyce Sallin of the state of Kentucky; half-brother, Harold Helton of Ironton; sisters-in-law, Mary and Tracy Helton, both of Vienna.
Mass of Christian Burial was held April 26, at Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna, with Rev. Basil Tigga and Deacon Michael Brooks officiating.
Interment was in the Vienna Public Cemetery in Vienna.
Arrangements entrusted to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
