Cooper Bradly Dorge, 12, Westphalia, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at the family farm.
He was born Aug. 23, 2011, the son of Jacob Michael and Amanda Lynn (Scheulen) Dorge in Jefferson City.
He was currently attending St. Joseph Catholic School in Westphalia where he was entering the seventh grade. He enjoyed playing baseball, PAL football, and competing in archery.
Cooper was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he enjoyed being an acolyte server.
His love for the water was evident in every splash - whether swimming, boating, skiing, or bow fishing. The laughter that echoed as he drove around on the golf cart will forever linger in our hearts. In moments of leisure, Cooper found enjoyment with video games on his X-Box, where his imagination knew no bounds. A young man of remarkable diligence and a laid-back demeanor, he embraced each day with a spirited determination.
Cooper was preceded in death by maternal great-grandmother, Teresa Schwartz; maternal great-grandparents, George and Elizabeth Scheulen; paternal great-grandparents, James and Kay Verslues; and cousin, Bradley Verslues (who Cooper was named after).
He is survived by parents, Jacob and Amanda of Westphalia; siblings, Wyatt and Vayda Dorge; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Beverly Scheulen, St. Elizabeth; paternal grandparents, James and Vicki Dorge, Folk; maternal great-grandfather, Walter Schwartz, Argyle; paternal great-grandparents, George and Rose Dorge, Taos; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that were like family.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Dylan Schrader and the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG concelebrating.
Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to the MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia.
