Eugene Monroe, 83, California, passed away May 19, 2020 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 2, 1937, to William Reed Monroe and Mildred Lucille (Evans) Monroe, in Osage County.
He was united in marriage to Wanda Lee (Swoboda) Monroe, Sept. 14, 1957, at St. George Catholic Church, Linn.
Eugene attended Pointers Creek School and Linn Public Schools. He was employed with Twin City Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing for 20 years; MODOT for 16 years and also farmed. He was preceded in death by wife, Wanda; brother, Charles Monroe and sister, Lillian Gove. He is survived by son, Michael Monroe (Tawnie) of Jamestown; daughters, Pamela Sue Brauner (Stan) of California, Patricia Ann Oerly (Terry) of Jamestown; brother, John Monroe of Linn; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A public graveside service was held May 24, at the Community of Christ Cemetery near Linn. Memorials contributions are suggested to the Community of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California.
