Harold Alphonse Falter, 81, of Freeburg, Missouri, was born September 21, 1942, a son of Fritz William and Regina Magdalena (Morfeld) Falter, and departed this life for his eternal home in heaven on Friday, July 5, 2024 in the St. Mary’s Hospital, Jefferson City, surrounded by his family.

Harold was united in marriage on May 14, 1966, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown to Miss Judy Marie Meyer and to this union two sons were born.  He was preceded in death by his father, Fritz, on September 18, 1982; his mother, Regina, on January 17, 1968; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Felix and Helen Falter, Ambrose and Ola Mae Falter, Roman and Rita (and Mildred) Falter; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Joe Boehmer, Margaret and Greg Sankey; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Ann Meyer.

Harold is survived by his wife, Judy Falter of the home; his two sons, Jeffrey (Ruth) Falter and Jamie (Sarah) Falter of Freeburg; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Andrew Falter, Stephanie (Tristen) Howard, Faith, Isaac, and Curtis Falter; and two great-grandchildren, Corra and Degan Howard; brother-in-law Eugene (E.J.) Meyer and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris and Leon Lehmen.

Harold was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Freeburg and had served in the Missouri (U.S. Army) National Guard for almost eight years from 1961-1969.  During his working life, he had been employed by Quaker Windows and Doors for over 50 years prior to his retirement.  After he retired, he came back to Quaker to help grill for employee appreciation days and other special events.

Harold loved his family immensely and was first to be called for advice on fixing anything, building construction, or gardening.  He made sure all of his family had their favorite snacks available and loved to grill pork burgers for them.  He enjoyed recycling “precious” metals with his grandsons.  He loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing with his family and was proud of all of their adventures. Harold was a good neighbor to everyone.
