William J. Saffeels, 46, of Bonnots Mill, crossed the centerline on Hwy. 50, just west of Rt. U, Friday, March 19th, 2021 at about 1 p.m. in his eastbound 1988 GMC Sierra, and struck the front driver's side of a westbound 2011 Ford Focus driven by Garrett E. Russell, 20, of Jefferson City. According to Linn Police Chief Michael Bickell, Saffeels was not wearing a seatbelt but Russell was wearing his. Both suffered moderate injuries and were transported by Osage Ambulance District to an area hospital.
