As the VFW Post 6133 honor guard was raising the flag Friday to open the Firemen’s Picnic, their commander Bob Depperman began an a cappella rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” after a miscue from a recorded version of the national anthem occurred in the opening stanza. Fireworks were shot off by Showtime Pyrotechnic in Cuba, Mo.
