LINN — At their July 17 meeting, Osage Ambulance District swore in Chamois school counselor Meghan Birmingham to fill the board vacancy left by the resignation of Tim Thoenen.
Birmingham is also Chamois City Clerk and a member of Chamois Fire Protection District.
EMS Chief Josh Krull said Birmingham was chosen because her work with these agencies, her ties to the community, and because the district has worked with her previously at the school health fairs.
The board voted to approve support of the Baby Safe Box. More information about raising funds for this will be provided at a later date.
The district will move forward with having air conditioning installed in the ambulance bay at Base 2, to protect medications in the ambulance from high temperatures.
The board voted to purchase a used community paramedic vehicle from Chicago motors for $30,000. It is a 2022 Ford Explorer, which will be used for their Mobile Integrated Healthcare programs.
The district received a bill from Osage County dispatch, which Krull said has started billing for services. He plans to meet with dispatch for more information about the charges.
