Warren Franklin Helton, 83, Vienna, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 25, 1937, to Vernon Albert and Dorothy Mae (Green) Helton, near Vienna.

He was united in marriage to Mary Joyce Spratley, May 10, 1958, at Vienna.

Warren was baptized in the Catholic Faith and a member of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown. He was employed in logging for most of his working life, retiring in 2002. He also farmed and raised livestock. He later was a courier for the Maries County Bank until retirement in 2019.

He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Dorothy; half-brothers and half-sisters, Arlen Helton, Louise Vemmer, Arthur Helton, Lola Mae Deleshmit and Lorene O’Haver; and grandson, Timothy Lee Rowden.

He is survived by wife, Mary, of the home; children, Wilma Rowden and husband Bryan of Meta, Virgil Helton and wife Darla and Gene Helton and wife Dianne, all of Vienna, Lynda Edwards and husband Steve of Rolla, Lorie Fussner and husband Bill of Ashland and Laura Mitchell of Republic; siblings, Wayne Helton and wife Alice of Vienna, Leona Williams Kirby of Forsyth, Joyce Sallin and husband Ron of Murray, Ky., and Roger Helton and wife Tracy and Sonny Helton and wife Robin, all of Vienna; half-brother, Harold Helton of Ironton; and 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Vienna with his son-in-law, Bill Fussner, officiating. Interment was in the Vienna Public Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association.
